Drum screens

Drum screens are primarily designed for control screening and pre-classification of medium- and coarse-grained materials.

Equipped with screens of different mesh sizes, the drum screen can also serve as a fractionating or calibrating device, separating two or more fractions. These machines can be equipped with steel, bar, rubber or plastic screen decks. They are manufactured in open or enclosed versions. They can be equipped with drum tilt and speed control systems.

Drum screens can be manufactured from ordinary or acid-resistant steel.

What is the operation of a drum screen with a hopper?

The work of the drum sifter consists in the backfilling of the drum sifter, driven by a gear with a motor. By rotating the screening drum and supporting the work of the drum with a spiral web, it moves the material in the direction of the discharge. The screened material is discharged from the first, second, third and subsequent island chambers, depending on the mesh size of the screening mesh used. The drum sifter is used to obtain the appropriate fractions from the fed bulk material. Depending on your needs, you can obtain from 1 to as many as 6 fractions or more. The tumbler screen is used to obtain the appropriate fractions from the feed bulk material. Depending on the needs, 2 to 6 fractions can be obtained due to the number of mesh sieve chambers used to suit the application. The screen can be used in various industries such as chemical, building materials. It also has applications in agriculture: in the feed segment, fertilisers, etc.

The screens are manufactured in open or enclosed versions. They can be equipped with drum tilting and speed control systems. Drum screens can be manufactured from ordinary steel and acid-resistant steel.

The diameter of the screen's feed hopper means that this type of device is used for various materials, including, but not limited to, compost. We distinguish not only the drum earth sifter, but also other models. This results in their great flexibility; we use them for screening, among other things:

  • compost
  • municipal waste
  • coal
  • aggregates of all kinds
  • sand
  • sawdust, woodchips and wood waste
  • biomass

The biggest advantage of these drum plants is their simple design and technology. The large inlet throat between the hopper and the screening drum minimises the risk of material blockages, and the diameter allows free movement of the material. A wide range of screening drums allows the operation of widely varying material. Our tumbler screens are designed for the customer and their application, and are dedicated to your needs.

The design of the drum screens is threefold in total:

1. simple drum and substructure design

2. extended open versions

3. closed versions with covers

Simple drum screen. Carrier structure and drum,

The design of such a screening machine is lightweight. It has basic structural components:

  • supporting structure
  • drum guide
  • drive
  • drum

This design is the starting point for building the final configuration of your screening machine.

Expanded screens without covers or in covers with additional equipment.

Additional equipment for tumbling screens - brief description:

  • cleaning brushes
  • dedicated chutes and chutes at the inlet and outlet of the screens
  • sieve with one mesh size for the whole or differentiated mesh size per sieving segment
  • additional material guide bar inside the screen to assist the sifting and screening of the material
  • system of changing the angle of the screening drum by a screw or an actuator
  • the use of a belt or belts under the sifter to receive the sifted fraction
  • use of containers or trolleys under the screen, depending on the customer's needs
  • steel, bar, rubber or plastic screen decks
  • a drum screen on wheels, allowing the screen to be moved as required by the customer.

We offer tumbling screens with different capacities. The mesh, its view and screen perforation can be selected to suit individual customer requirements. Our equipment allows for efficient screening of almost any material. The attractive price will certainly encourage you to place an order.
